Gina (Regina) is a passionate and dedicated Physiotherapist, Pilates instructor, and Breathwork Facilitator, with a focus on holistic health, trauma-informed care, and musculoskeletal injuries.
She obtained her BSc Hons Physiotherapy degree from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2016 and began her career working for the NHS in North Manchester General Hospital. Here, she gained valuable experience completing the core rotations as a junior, then progressing to senior in the Musculoskeletal Outpatients Department before returning home in 2018 to work in the community in Mayo and private sector. Gina is dedicated to helping her clients achieve optimal health and well-being. Whether you are dealing with a sports injury, chronic pain, or rehabilitation following a fall or surgery, Gina’s expertise and caring approach can help you to overcome your challenges and live a more fulfilling and balanced life. With her love for sports and movement, in the UK Gina worked with high-level athletes to optimize their performance and prevent injury. Over time, her interest expanded to encompass lifestyle change, mindful movement and tackling chronic pain.
Gina is from the lovely village of Turlough and has always had a passion for sport, both watching and playing. In 2017 Gina sustained an ACL knee injury and as part of the rehabilitation she started attending Physio-led Pilates classes which first sparked her interest in Pilates. Since then Gina has qualified as an APPI Pilates Instructor and runs several classes per week in Westport, Castlebar and Turlough Community Centre.
Gina is also a qualified acupuncturist and uses acupuncture to treat musculoskeletal related conditions. Both acupuncture and physiotherapy are known to relieve pain and reduce inflammation. Many people think of these modalities as separate and unrelated, but when combined together, there are synergistic effects that can improve musculoskeletal injury and provide pain relief providing lasting results. Drawing on a multimodal approach that incorporates mindful movement, breathwork, and evidence-based physiotherapy practices, Gina ensures an honest thorough assessment and treatment, providing the highest quality of care.
When she’s not working she loves running, kayaking and climbing mountains. She loves to travel and explore new places, from traveling parts of Asia solo, bikepacking and hiking to Everest Basecamp in Nepal.
